Mysteries and Recipes are the best
Your mysteries and recipes are the best. Thank you!
Cleo's reply - Thank *you* for the nice note!
Cannot wait for SHOT IN THE DARK!
I have been reading your Coffeehouse Mystery series since the very first book--ON WHAT GROUNDS. I think of your characters as friends and always look forward to visiting the Village Blend coffee house. I have pre-ordered your next book SHOT IN THE DARK. Cannot wait to read it! Thank you so much for writing such wonderful stories. Beatrice R.
Cleo's reply - Excellent! What a wonerful note, Beatrice. My husband (and partner in caffeinated crime writing) and I will keep writing as long as you keep reading. We hope you'll enjoy our books for years to come.
I just finished reading Dead to the Last Drop and I have to say I loved it, as I have the first 14. I think, though, that you made an error in referring to Stan as having a "Captain America eye patch", but to the best of my knowledge Captain America never wore an eye patch; it was Nick Fury, the leader of the commando group SHIELD. Other than that, as I said, I loved the books and am looking forward to the next books.
Cleo's reply - No. No error. Captain America watches and mugs and T-shirts all reflect the same design as Stan's "Captain America" eye patch. Google "Captain America souvenirs," and you'll see it--a white star in the center of a circle of blue with red and white stripes around it. This is Captain America's shield design, of course, red, white and blue. That is what Stan wears. The meaning of why Stan wears a "Captain America eye patch" is clear enough, I think, given that Stan is a wounded vet. I'm glad you enjoyed our book, and I hope you continue to enjoy the Coffeehouse Mysteries.

Babka - Once Upon a Grind
In Once Upon a Grind, there is a cofeehouse-bakery named Babka. I live in New York City and wonder if anyone else remembers a bakery named Babka on the Upper West Side? It was a part of my childhood growing up on West 79th Street in the 1960s,and I want to be sure I am not mis-remembering it. Love the mysteries, and look forward to seeing what happens to Claire and Mike in DC.
Love the Coffeehouse Mysteries!Just had to stop by and say thank you for writing these wonderful books. I am looking forward to your new one next year, Shot in the Dark! Jenny
Murder by Mocha Pure Ecstasy

I pre-ordered Shot in the Dark!I have enjoyed your series from the very first book. Thank you for writing such wonderful characters and entertaining stories. Please never stop writing. I am looking forward to your new Coffeehouse book, Shot in the Dark. Already pre-ordered it! Barb
Thank you!Love the series of coffeehouse mysteries! Great stories with believable details. I love coffee and appreciate the recipes and brewing tips. I have to drink decaf due to health issues with caffeine so I really giggled over the baristas attitude. If it helps any, I really miss the caffeine! ??
Great Find!Hi! Just thought I would let you k ow how much I am enjoying this series. I am a Espresso/Cappuccino Lover and Mystery Lover. After reading so many really dark books lately, it is nice to find these. I am listening to the audio versions while I exercise. Love the gal's voice that narrates them. She fits perfectly with Clare.
mystery newsletterDo you have an idea of when your next mystery newsletter will be released?
your coffee booksI have all your coffee books,i injoyed them very much .Do you have a new one coming out.
Dead to the Last Drop ... and an incredible read! Thank you! What an amazingly intriguing, fun and informational read! You are incredible writers! I have read all of the coffee house cozies up to and almost through Dead to the Last Drop. Of course I will continue reading the series too. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every one. I particularly enjoy the way your heroine, Claire, grows, matures, changes. She has many of the same concerns, issues and attitudes that we all have. Although, she does have a great deal more excitement in her life than I do. Thank you for all of your gifts...every book, all the history, the websites and especially the recipes! I cannot imagine all the research you do for each book. Stay well and keep on writing! YOU are a gift to all of us.
#16 "DEAD COLD BREW" (Spoiler!! something EXCITING happens in #16!!)JUST finished #16 - DEAD COLD BREW and LOVED IT!!!!!! have read ALL of the series!!!! Have to tell you, reading about the surprise engagement, Mike did for Clare just had me ALL SMILES…ok, a few tears, but good tears! I LOVED that scene!!!!! “Did you think you could get away with it? she demanded, rattling the cuffs like a dungeon mistress. … … “This is serious, Clare. In New York State, stealing a police detective’s heart is a Class A felony.” I LOVED THIS SCENE!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I will miss Clare and Mike and Matt and the gang, but will be waiting in line for the next installment!! ok, now it's time to look up some of your recipes! I love the food you cook and talk about almost as much as the stories!!! LOL! Joe E.
A Couple that listens (reads) together stays togetherMy Husband and I love your books and listen together on Audible while driving or in the evenings. We own a business together that keeps us busy but "solving" your mysteries (or trying to figure them out) together gives us some down time. Great to know that they are written by a couple too!!
Brownies for you...
I read...and loved reading "Dead to the Last Drop" also... As I read the book, I found I was CRAVING gallons of coffee and Luther's bourbon brownies!...Truly enjoyed the book and plan to cook the cherry pork tenderloin recipe next.

Cleo's reply -
Hello anonymous reader! I'm sincerely delighted to know that you enjoyed Dead to the Last Drop. Thank you for letting me know! Very kind of you. As for those Bourbon Brownies, they have been (temporarily) replaced with a quick and easy recipe for Kahlua Brownies. Why? Because the Bourbon Brownies recipe simply was not good enough to share with you and other readers. Not yet, anyway. Stay subscribed to my newsletter and I'll let you know when it *is* good enough. :)
In the meantime, enjoy this brownie recipe (and my affogato talk) at the link below...
