Question on Kindle
Would you ever put your books available on Kindle Unlimited? I love your series but I have had to get them through my local library and I wish I could get them through my Unlimited membership...
Cleo's reply - First of all, thank you kindly for reading our books. We truly appreciate it! Because we publish with Penguin Random House, our books are available wherever books are sold. If your library does not have all of our titles, take a minute and ask a librarian for help. Ask if the library you go to is part of a larger circulation system. You might be surprised and find that you have access to more books than you think. If not, we hope you will ask them to carry our complete series. You might let them know our lastest Coffeehouse Mystery SHOT IN THE DARK is a Mystery Pick of the Month by Library Journal. We are avaible for purchase on Kindle and Nook and through iBooks and most other digital platforms, but we are not in the program you mentioned at this time and don't foresee that happening, so we wish you luck on the other ideas we have for you. Again, thank you for reading and for stopping by our message board.
Wishing you joy,
Found you through a dream about Angel Wings
My husband died the 17 Feb 2018 and I'm planning for his memorial on the 24th of March. Last night I had a dream about the Angel Wings, Googled Cookies: Angel Wings and there was your link w/illustrations. I hope to try making them as the memorial is the day before Palm Sun. and what better for a memorial for someone who just left heaven bound than Angel Wings. Thank you. I had never heard of your books though I love mysteries. Mary Ann Schram
Dear Mary Ann,
Your note touched me deeply. I learned to make those Angel Wings from my beloved Aunt Mary. She was born in Italy with my mother and they came to America together. She lived with us after my mother married my dad, and she helped raise me and my older sister. So she was a very close member of our family, and I miss her very much. How perfect it is that your name is Mary, too. How perfect that those beautiful cookies came to you in a dream and you found the post I created out of love and respect for a lost loved one. The recipe I shared has lots of illustrations and tips, so I hope your cookies come out beautifully and when you and your guests eat them at your husband's memorial, I hope they will bring joyful memories of the man you loved, and who loved you.
Warmest wishes and blessings,
~ Cleo (Alice)
I love coffee and I love your coffeehouse mysteries!I relate to your books not just because I love mysteries and coffee, but also because I am a petite woman who loves a tall detective! I also love that you come across as a normal, one of us kind of girls! I can never put your books down until I'm done and then I can hardly wait for the next one! May your life be filled with mystery, coffee, love and laughter.

Mysteries and Recipes are the best
Your mysteries and recipes are the best. Thank you!
Cleo's reply - Thank *you* for the nice note!
Cannot wait for SHOT IN THE DARK!
I have been reading your Coffeehouse Mystery series since the very first book--ON WHAT GROUNDS. I think of your characters as friends and always look forward to visiting the Village Blend coffee house. I have pre-ordered your next book SHOT IN THE DARK. Cannot wait to read it! Thank you so much for writing such wonderful stories. Beatrice R.
Cleo's reply - Excellent! What a wonerful note, Beatrice. My husband (and partner in caffeinated crime writing) and I will keep writing as long as you keep reading. We hope you'll enjoy our books for years to come.
I just finished reading Dead to the Last Drop and I have to say I loved it, as I have the first 14. I think, though, that you made an error in referring to Stan as having a "Captain America eye patch", but to the best of my knowledge Captain America never wore an eye patch; it was Nick Fury, the leader of the commando group SHIELD. Other than that, as I said, I loved the books and am looking forward to the next books.
Cleo's reply - No. No error. Captain America watches and mugs and T-shirts all reflect the same design as Stan's "Captain America" eye patch. Google "Captain America souvenirs," and you'll see it--a white star in the center of a circle of blue with red and white stripes around it. This is Captain America's shield design, of course, red, white and blue. That is what Stan wears. The meaning of why Stan wears a "Captain America eye patch" is clear enough, I think, given that Stan is a wounded vet. I'm glad you enjoyed our book, and I hope you continue to enjoy the Coffeehouse Mysteries.
Did I miss the section of the last newsletter that talked about The Ghost and the Bogus Bestseller?
Cleo's reply - Our last newsletter happily announced our upcoming Coffeehouse Mystery (#17) SHOT IN THE DARK. Watch for an exciting update on The Ghost and the Bogus Bestseller in our next newsletter--in time for Thanksgiving! (And aren't you sweet for asking, thank you!)

Babka - Once Upon a Grind
In Once Upon a Grind, there is a cofeehouse-bakery named Babka. I live in New York City and wonder if anyone else remembers a bakery named Babka on the Upper West Side? It was a part of my childhood growing up on West 79th Street in the 1960s,and I want to be sure I am not mis-remembering it. Love the mysteries, and look forward to seeing what happens to Claire and Mike in DC.
Love the Coffeehouse Mysteries!Just had to stop by and say thank you for writing these wonderful books. I am looking forward to your new one next year, Shot in the Dark! Jenny
