Joy Allegro's Honey Orange Glazed Chicken
Does it make a significant difference to use the raw apple cider vinegar as opposed to regular apple cider vinegar? Can you explain why? Thank you!
Reply for Cleo: The raw vinegar is organic and tastes better (more apple-y), which is why Joy would use it, and we do, too. Substituting for this recipe would change the flavor profile though some palates may not pick up the difference (Joy and Clare would). Enjoy!
Cookbook or... Question Answered
I really want all the recipes but am having a hard time navigating the websites to find them. Do you have a cookbook? Even just an e-pub or pdf I could put on my Christmas Wishlist would be amazing.

The Ghost and the Femme Fatale - Question answered
Hi. I was wondering why The Ghost and the Femme Fatale isn’t available on Kindle when all the other books are? I have arthritis in my hands and it is easier for me to read on the Kindle. I love this series!

The Ghost and the Femme Fatale is available in e-book form (Nook, Kobo, etc.) The problem with the Kindle is temporary and should be resolved soon (just a technical glitch on Amazon's part, they're working on it)!

Hi Cleo, I am a huge fan who listens to your books rather than reading them. I look at your site regularly and see the beautiful color pictures of all of the finished recipe items but I can't find the actual recipes with measurements, cooking time, etc. They don't come with the audio books. Is there a way to get them that I am just missing? I especially want the brownie recipe that Clare took to the Bomb Squad in Billionaire's Blend. Help please! Thank you. Eleanor
Replying for Cleo - Thank you, Eleanor, for your nice words about Cleo's books! The audio books are read by an accomplished actress. We are so proud of her. This past year, she was part of the cast of CODA, the Academy Award winning best picture of the year!
As to your question about recipes, the audio books are produced performances of the book by our talented actress Becky Gibel. The audio license is granted only for the reading of material aloud to you, the reader. That's a legal rights issue. And because it makes no sense to read twenty recipes aloud in an audio book, the recipes are not included. What you pay for is the PERFORMANCE of the book, which costs extra time and money, just as adapting it for TV or film would. In a TV show or movie, you would not see the recipes, either! And that's why you will only find the recipes in Cleo's printed hardcover, paperback, and e-books. This may disappoint you, but please know that Cleo shares many free, bonus recipes with her fans, and you are welcome to sign up for Cleo's newsletter, in which she always shares recipes.

Question, I took a long break after reading 6 or so books, believe I've picked up the series again with the next. Wasn't there a romantic relationship between Clare and Mike Quinn. No mention of anything like that in A Brew to a Kill.

OMG, I just love this series. My 2 fave things coffee and mystery. And just enough sass to make you blush. I was looking for a new mystery series and came across the Coffehouse Mysteries. Totally hooked!! I listen when I'm walking, driving, working, basically whenever I can. My library has them all available in audiobook format which is ahhhmahzing!! Working from home it's easy to get hung up on soaps. This is way better. I am a FAN!!!!Great series !

Do you have a recipe for that croque monsieur mentioned in Murder by Mocha?
Cleo's reply: YES! Here you go: Put 2 slices of bread on a lined baking sheet. Make a béchamel sauce and spread it generously on each slice of bread. Add a slice of good quality ham and a mound of shredded Gruyere cheese. Close the sandwich with another slice of bread and top that bread with more sauce and another mound of shredded Gruyere cheese. Finally, sprinkle the sandwich with herbes de Provence and bake about 10 to 15 minutes in a pre-heated 425° F. oven until the cheese is golden brown and bubbling. It’s delicious! ~ Cleo

Hi Cleo, I have read (actually listen to) a lot of cozy mysteries but without a doubt you have a wonderful series and one of the very best available. The Coffeehouse series has a great balance of mystery, wonderful characters and romance. They are intricate and I simply can't put them down. I'm on #13 (doing in order) and each one just gets better. I do hope at some point we actually have a wedding for Clare and Mike. My question for you is: how in the world do you have the knowledge base for the coffee information you use in the books as well as the ethnic food items. It is wonderful but so detailed and interesting. Add to that the recipes and you can see how I have become addicted. Please keep this series going. Creating blends is a culinary art, and I'm happy to report that the roasters for Bishops Blend have done a masterful job at creating theirs. The beans are roasted medium dark and the package came to me (via UPS) freshly roasted, beautifully oily, and smelling of chocolate. The coffee is perfectly balanced; and as it cools, the notes include a slight vanilla flavor and a touch of cinnamon. Even better, when you purchase a bag, a percentage of the money goes toward ERD, a charity that provides disaster relief around the world as well as enabling people in the poorest communities on our planet to climb out of poverty.
